Fully insulated garden rooms in Marlow, designed and built by a family-run team based in Hazlemere.
Garden Room Builders in Marlow
We design and build garden rooms in Marlow, from the Victorian villas near the centre to Marlow Bottom, Bovingdon Green and Little Marlow.
A long garden behind a Victorian or Edwardian house has room for a garden building at the end, whether a home studio, a home gym or a quiet office.
Our design and build garden rooms come insulated, glazed and wired, and we build sheds and outside storage too.
The High Street and West Street hold many listed buildings. If your home is listed, a garden room needs consent, and we check this at the start.
Marlow’s conservation area covers the centre, Beaufort Gardens and the Riley Road area, and an Environment Agency scheme has reduced flood risk near Gossmore Lane and Pound Lane since 2019.
Covering Marlow and the SL7 postcode area.

What Will You Use Your Garden Room For?
A new garden room gives you extra space without moving house or building an extension. Here are the ways our customers use theirs.
Design and Build Garden Rooms
We handle the whole project, from the first drawing to the path that leads to the door, so you deal with one team from start to finish.
- Visit and designWe look at the garden and talk through how you will use the room. We build it to your exact specification and how you plan to use it, and our experience means we can help guide the design.
- The baseA level, solid base that stays dry and will not shift, so the doors and windows keep opening freely.
- Fully insulatedInsulated floor, walls and roof, with double-glazed doors, so the room is warm in winter and stays comfortable in summer.
- Power and lightingWe fit the electrics too: sockets, lighting and heating, so the room is ready to use the day we finish.
- The outdoor space around itPaths, decking, patios and planting, so the room sits in the garden rather than on it.

Garden Room Questions from Marlow
Can you build a garden room near the Thames in Marlow?
Yes. Near the river the ground is damp, so we raise the room on a base with air moving beneath it, which keeps the floor dry.
Can you build a garden room in a Marlow Bottom garden?
Yes. Gardens in Marlow Bottom follow the slope of the valley, so we level the ground and build the base to suit before the room goes up.
Do you build garden rooms in the villages around Marlow?
Yes. As well as Marlow itself, we cover Marlow Bottom, Little Marlow, Bourne End, Bisham, Medmenham, Marlow Common, Bovingdon Green, Well End, Sheepridge and Winchbottom, and the rest of the SL7 postcode area.
How long does it take to build a garden room in Marlow?
It depends on the size of the room, what goes inside it and whether we are building paths, decking or a patio around it. Once we have measured up, your quote includes a timescale, so you know how long we will be on site before we start.
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
Usually not. Most garden rooms count as permitted development if they are single storey, no higher than 2.5 metres within 2 metres of a boundary, not in front of the house, not covering more than half the garden and not used as a bedroom. The rules are tighter for listed buildings, in conservation areas and in the Chilterns National Landscape. We check this before we start.
Does a garden room need building regulations approval?
Usually not, as long as nobody sleeps in it. Under 15 square metres it is normally exempt. Between 15 and 30 square metres it is normally exempt if it is at least 1 metre from the boundary or built mostly from non-combustible materials. Electrical work must still meet the regulations.
Can I use a garden room all year round?
Yes. With insulation in the floor, walls and roof, double-glazed doors and heating, a fully insulated garden room stays warm in winter, so a home office or gym works in every season.
Do you build sheds and garden storage too?
Yes. As well as garden rooms, we build sheds and outside storage for bikes, tools, bins and furniture, sized to fit your garden. See garden storage above.
How much does a new garden room cost in Marlow?
It depends on the size, the finish and what goes inside, such as power, lighting and heating. We need to see the garden before we can give you a price, so we offer a free, no-obligation quote. Call 01494 812249 or use the form at the top of the page.
