New outdoor kitchens across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns, designed and built by a family-run team based in Hazlemere.
Outdoor Kitchens Built Across Buckinghamshire
FirstScapes is a family-run landscaping company. We design and build outdoor kitchens across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns, from a simple garden BBQ station to a full garden kitchen under a pergola.
A high-quality outdoor kitchen is built like the rest of the garden: on a solid base, with worktops and cladding that stand up to the weather, and with power, lighting and cover planned in from the start.
Because we build whole gardens, your new outdoor kitchen can come with the patio or deck beneath it, the pergola overhead, the lighting and the seating area around it, all from one team.

What Goes into an Outdoor Kitchen?
Every garden kitchen is built to suit the space and the way you cook. Most bring together a few of these.
Built as Part of the Garden
A new outdoor kitchen works best when it is planned with the patio, the cover overhead and the lighting, rather than added on later.
- DesignWe design a functional outdoor kitchen around how you cook and entertain and what you need from it, so it is tailor-made for your garden.
- The baseA solid, level base, usually part of a new patio or deck, so the worktops stay true.
- The kitchenWe build the units, clad them and fit the worktops, the BBQ, the sink and the fridge.
- Power and lightingSockets and lighting, fitted and tested by qualified electricians.
- FinishingCover overhead, seating and planting, so the kitchen sits in a garden you want to spend time in.

Outdoor Kitchen Questions from Buckinghamshire
Which towns do you cover for outdoor kitchens?
We design and build outdoor kitchens in High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Amersham, Marlow, Chesham, Hazlemere, Great Missenden, Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Peter and Chalfont St Giles, and the villages in between. Pick your town below for local advice.
How long does it take to build an outdoor kitchen in Buckinghamshire?
It depends on the size of the kitchen, what goes into it and whether we are building the patio, pergola or lighting at the same time. Once we have measured up, your quote includes a timescale, so you know how long we will be on site before we start.
Do I need planning permission for an outdoor kitchen?
Usually not in a back garden. A covered kitchen follows the rules for garden structures, which allow up to 2.5 metres high within 2 metres of a boundary. The rules are tighter for listed buildings and in conservation areas. We check this before we start.
Should I choose a gas or charcoal BBQ?
Gas lights at the touch of a button, heats evenly and makes less smoke. Charcoal gives a smoky flavour that many people love. We can build in either, with a cupboard for the gas bottle or fuel.
Can I use an outdoor kitchen all year round?
With cover overhead, lighting and somewhere warm to sit, yes. A pergola or louvred roof keeps the rain off, so the kitchen is not just for summer. See cover overhead above.
How much does a new outdoor kitchen cost in Buckinghamshire?
It depends on the size, the materials and what goes into it, such as the BBQ, sink, fridge, cover and lighting. We need to see the garden before we can give you a price, so we offer a free, no-obligation quote. Call 01494 812249 or use the form at the top of the page.
Planning guidance correct as of 28 September 2026. Rules change, so check with Buckinghamshire Council before you commit to anything.
