FirstScapes is a family-run landscaping company based in Hazlemere, so this is our home patch. We design and build gardens across the village and the HP15 postcode, from Cedar Park and Manor Farm to Holmer Green, Widmer End, Tylers Green and Penn.
Much of Hazlemere was built in two waves: fast growth in the 1920s and 1930s, then Cedar Park in the early 1960s and Manor Farm from the late 1960s. Many of those gardens are now ready for a new patio, a new driveway or a full redesign, and plenty of households here choose to improve their home rather than move.
The ground on the Chiltern plateau is clay-with-flints, which holds water and moves as it wets and dries. That shapes how we build: deeper footings, proper sub-bases and drainage that keeps water on your plot rather than adding to the run-off the neighbourhood plan wants to avoid.

As well as Hazlemere itself, we work in Holmer Green, Tylers Green, Penn, Widmer End, Four Ashes, Terriers, Penn Street, Cryers Hill, Great Kingshill and Hughenden Valley, and across the rest of the HP15 postcode area.
Most garden work does not need it. Hazlemere has no conservation area of its own, though nearby Penn and Tylers Green, Four Ashes, Terriers and Totteridge do, and the rules there are tighter. We check before we start.
Mostly clay-with-flints over chalk, with slow-draining, slightly acidic soils and small pockets of free-draining chalk. Good drainage and solid foundations matter for every patio, driveway and lawn.
