Patio and Path Installation in Buckinghamshire
New patios, paths and steps across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns, from a family-run team based in Hazlemere.
Patio Fitters Across Buckinghamshire
FirstScapes is a family-run landscaping company. We lay new patios and paths across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns, from a small terrace by the back door to a large entertaining space.
A patio is only as good as what lies underneath it. We dig out, lay and compact a proper sub-base, and set falls so rainwater runs away from the house. Our stonemasons choose and lay each slab by hand, which is what makes high quality patios: tight joints and an even finish.
Our pathway installations and steps connect the patio to the rest of the garden, and as steps installers we build them with an even rise that is safe to use.
Covering ten towns across south Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns, and the villages between them.

Patio Questions from Buckinghamshire
Which towns do you cover for patios and paths?
We lay patios and paths in High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Amersham, Marlow, Chesham, Hazlemere, Great Missenden, Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Peter and Chalfont St Giles, and the villages in between. Pick your town below for local advice.
How long does it take to lay a new patio in Buckinghamshire?
It depends on the size of the patio, the material and how much has to come out first. Once we have measured up, your quote includes a timescale, so you know how long we will be on site before we start.
What types of patio does FirstScapes build in Buckinghamshire?
We lay porcelain, sandstone, granite and block paving patios in Buckinghamshire, along with the paths, steps and features that go with them. You can compare them in the section above.
Is porcelain or natural stone better for a patio?
Porcelain is very hard-wearing, needs little upkeep and can last up to 40 years. Natural stone has more character and far more variety, and suits older houses as well as modern ones. We will show you both when we visit.
Do I need planning permission for a patio?
Usually not for a patio at ground level in a back garden. You may need it if the patio is raised more than 30cm, if a hard surface in a front garden drains onto the road, or if your house is listed. We check this when we visit.
How much does a new patio cost in Buckinghamshire?
It depends on the size, the material you choose and the ground underneath. We need to measure it up and look at the site before we can give you a price, so we offer a free, no-obligation quote. Call 01494 812249 or use the form at the top of the page.
