Garden Room Builders in Beaconsfield
We design and build garden rooms in Beaconsfield, from the New Town and Knotty Green to Holtspur, Forty Green and Seer Green.
A new garden room gives a family house an extra room without an extension: a home office in the week, a home bar at the weekend, or a hobby room the children can make their own.
We design each one to suit the house and garden, and build the outdoor spaces around it, from the path to the door to a deck outside it.
Beaconsfield is home to Bekonscot, the oldest model village in the world, and many gardens here have room for a garden room with a deck, a garden storage building, or both.
The Old Town has been a conservation area since 1969, with its wide Ends and reddish-brown local brick, while the New Town grew up after the station opened in 1906.

What Will You Use Your Garden Room For?
A new garden room gives you extra space without moving house or building an extension. Here are the ways our customers use theirs.
Design and Build Garden Rooms
We handle the whole project, from the first drawing to the path that leads to the door, so you deal with one team from start to finish.
- Visit and designWe look at the garden and talk through how you will use the room. We build it to your exact specification and how you plan to use it, and our experience means we can help guide the design.
- The baseA level, solid base that stays dry and will not shift, so the doors and windows keep opening freely.
- Fully insulatedInsulated floor, walls and roof, with double-glazed doors, so the room is warm in winter and stays comfortable in summer.
- Power and lightingWe fit the electrics too: sockets, lighting and heating, so the room is ready to use the day we finish.

Garden Room Questions from Beaconsfield
Where should a garden room go in a large Beaconsfield garden?
The New Town’s big plots suit a garden room at the far end of the garden, away from the house, with a path leading to it and planting around it.
Do I need planning permission for a garden room in Beaconsfield Old Town?
The Old Town is a conservation area, where a garden room to the side of the house needs planning permission and listed buildings need consent for any outbuilding. We check before anything is built.
Do you build garden rooms in the villages around Beaconsfield?
Yes. As well as Beaconsfield itself, we cover Old Town, New Town, Holtspur, Holtspur Heath, Knotty Green, Forty Green, Wilton Park, Ledborough, Butlers Court and Candalmas Mead, and the rest of the HP9 postcode area.
How long does it take to build a garden room in Beaconsfield?
It depends on the size of the room, what goes inside it and whether we are building paths, decking or a patio around it. Once we have measured up, your quote includes a timescale, so you know how long we will be on site before we start.
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
Usually not. Most garden rooms count as permitted development if they are single storey, no higher than 2.5 metres within 2 metres of a boundary, not in front of the house, not covering more than half the garden and not used as a bedroom. The rules are tighter for listed buildings, in conservation areas and in the Chilterns National Landscape. We check this before we start.
Does a garden room need building regulations approval?
Usually not, as long as nobody sleeps in it. Under 15 square metres it is normally exempt. Between 15 and 30 square metres it is normally exempt if it is at least 1 metre from the boundary or built mostly from non-combustible materials. Electrical work must still meet the regulations.
Can I use a garden room all year round?
Yes. With insulation in the floor, walls and roof, double-glazed doors and heating, a fully insulated garden room stays warm in winter, so a home office or gym works in every season.
Do you build sheds and garden storage too?
Yes. As well as garden rooms, we build sheds and outside storage for bikes, tools, bins and furniture, sized to fit your garden. See garden storage above.
How much does a new garden room cost in Beaconsfield?
It depends on the size, the finish and what goes inside, such as power, lighting and heating. We need to see the garden before we can give you a price, so we offer a free, no-obligation quote. Call 01494 812249 or use the form at the top of the page.
